Signal problems still there with WPVI-TV 6ABC

You are so right about having the right antenna. There is a similar example of "The VHF DTV Problem" going on here in Kentucky. There is a station in Louisville (WBNA which transmits digitally on VHF Channel Eight). Many of the local Louisville folks living in the shadow of this station can not receive it with indoor, "who knows what" antennas! I am in Lexington, about 75 miles EAST of Louisville, and NEVER have problems receiving this station. Why? Because I have the right antenna (unamplified, by the way) up 50 feet to do the job. If you are trying to receive a VHF station, you need a VHF antenna....even if you are close to the station.
 
In Dallas, KTVT just got permission from the FCC to move back to UHF from Channel 11.

Just sayin'...

But again, KTVT's old UHF DTV channel is "inside core" and, while it was in use by another station, it was in use by another *co-owned* station. And luckily, they were able to move that station back to its pre-transition channel too.

WPVI doesn't have that option.
 
ABC has just proven that if they can find a good UHF, they'll take it.

WLS in Chicago petitioned yesterday to relocate from channel 7 to channel 44.

So stay tuned, there's still hope...

The cable is out this am and I need my 5am fix of Action News. Since 87.7 and anolog are no longer an option and knowing all the complaints of 6 abc's signal problems I hooked up the digital OTA box (got one just for this purpose but never used it) with one of those old FM wire antennas from my stereo (hung it by the window) anyway to give it a try. To my surprise 6.1,2 & 3 came in crystal clear with no issues at all! Granted it is the only station I picked up using the FM/VHF wire but it was the one I wanted. I am located in extreme Northern Chester county past Pottstown. (it was odd seeing Monica Malpass on the 5am news cast this am...where she use to be years ago.)

Reception in Bensalem, PA has now slightly improved. The WPVI signal, which was virtually nonexistant, now is received a pixelated non-viewable signal at best. Still poor marks for Channel 6. Sad, very sad performance.
