SIGNAL STRENGTH QUESTION...

KMLE has a backup site on Shaw Butte. Just for the sake of discussion, wouldn't that also be a great full-market location for an FM stick?

That used to be its main site, if I remember correctly. 92.3 was once up there as well. There is a reason why they moved to South Mountain.

Correct on both counts. Fred kept Shaw Butte as a backup site after moving to South until he sold the transmitter to KNAI, who had it retuned to 88.3. KMLE never gave up the site. I remember years ago when monsoons would take out South Mountain and the only FM's that would come back for hours were the 92.3/107.9 Shaw Butte sticks.

Now if my only choices were Queen Creek, Crown King, or Shaw Butte, I'd settle for Shaw Butte. But either you're on South Mountain or you're not a player.
