Works for me.
And worth noting, he made it work with an 8AM sign on & 5:15PM sign-off during December. ZERO night time power. I know...I was the one who turned the old Raytheon 1000 on at sunrise & off at sunset from 1973-1975. The transmitter was too old to operate by remote control, or so Don Cook (the consultant) convinced the owners. WNOP was a far cry from the 'smooth jazz' of today. The audience wasn't huge (seems an occasional 3 share occurred) but they were fiercely loyal.wllmlos said:Old Leo Underhill seemed to make it work on WNOP back in the 60's and 70's.
It should be OK now...the transmitter has two RF circuit boards that combine to produce full power. One of the circuit boards failed (with a resulting 1/4 power & some distortion)...I replaced it at 9:30AM Thursday...that "off frequency" sound should be gone now.hipporadio said:Leo Underhill was a broadcast “classic”—and so was the former WNOP. I’ll admit to listening to "Q-102" for a longer period, but I always checked-in at WNOP... It was a delightful AM station! BTW, Bob – WIFE is sounding a bit distorted... You might need to make a trip to C’ville and restore it to its elegance![]()
