I am a premium subscriber, and new calls are KNWN. Apparently it'll happen tonight.
The AM station already has the KNWN calls. Seems like a filing flub if they planned to launch it all at once. It has been identifying as KOMO Seattle still, however.

Lotus has already applied for KNWN-FM for 97.7 but that change has not yet taken effect. I'm sure we will see that happen sometime between tomorrow an Monday.FM is still KOMO-FM though Lotus needs to change that call sign too.
On paper, the AM is KNWN, so Lotus is technically falsely identifying the AM station. From what I understand of FCC rules, that's a no-no.As of 5pm Friday they are still using the KOMO calls for AM and FM. FYI.
Too bad they didn’t pick KNWX - the calls that were once on 770 when they were all-news. But hey, calls don’t matter, right?I am a premium subscriber, and new calls are KNWN. Apparently it'll happen tonight.
Correct. Few would ever remember back that far, nor would care even if they did.Too bad they didn’t pick KNWX - the calls that were once on 770 when they were all-news. But hey, calls don’t matter, right?
Is KNWN used by any FM stations right now? If someone else has those calls, KOMO-FM cannot use them. But the old KFMY 'The Eagle' calls are still available!
Hmmm...Could there be different plans for 97.7??? Why would they not apply for the calls for the FM, unless ...
Nope. KNWN is now used for 1000 but KNWN-FM **IS** available.

You can see this via the FCC public file, as well as pulling up the facility's callsign history.Where does everyone see that the new calls are already in effect for the AM? I read Radio Insight's FCC reports every week, and the only AM call change I saw was one in Rosswell NM which recently changed formats.
Correct, it is considered false identification. If the call letters have officially changed, but you're still using the previous ones on air for station ID, isn't that an FCC no-no?
