Heard some talk that morning news man Ed Skurka was shown the door at WTQR this morning. Anybody know anything?

Wow, I really hate to hear that. He's a nice guy. I also heard that the PD from CC Raleigh will be programming WTQR in Greensboro. Another people consolidation and another job cut. Clear Channel, just keep on cutting those jobs!

Clear Channel country WTQR/Greensboro PD/afternoon jock Trey Cooler segues to recently launched country sister WRDU (the Rooster)/Raleigh as PD. Meanwhile, CC country WKKT/Charlotte PD John Roberts adds those same duties for WTQR.
Roberts' move marks the second time in less than a week that Clear Channel has consolidated country programming positions. As previously reported, country WGAR and oldies WMJI/Cleveland PD Meg Stevens was named PD for both WPOC/Baltimore and WMZQ/Washington, D.C.

No...I havent heard anything...i listen to them in the morning when i dont have anything else to listen to...but Ed was a good guy....if he left...he will be a cold day in hell for TQR for a long time...b/c Ed was a good guy...I have friends that work for TQR....

Heard Laura Songster from WMAG doing news on WTQR this morning. My supposition is they canned Ed to pay for the new TV spots for WTQR. And, knowing PDs, despite his tenure, they'd much prefer a new person with a higher pitched voice!

OK, maybe yesterday it was Lora S.... today it's Kimberly Van Scoy of WXII!
LOL everyone....I think honestly that if people rely on news...then watch the TV for it....but for radio purposes they should hire someone who could read the paper's headlines and major breaks overnight....and leave the news anchors to their business...b/c honeslty...I think that the TV news is a bunch of BS anymore...hell they stretch the truth more than the radio newscasters do...am I not right...
