I’ve got nothing against Slade at all. He does a great job, but I prefer Hullinger. Anybody else have an opinion?
I agree play-by-play was NOT his thing, but he does sound really good doing the news casts.Merlin Berlin said:I never really cared much for Jeff as a sportscaster back in the day or as the Falcons play-by-play guy, but I gotta say I do enjoy his newscasts. He's sounds very comfortable behind the mic and has a nice delivery.

Even when GST shared the 105.7 signal, I believe Hullinger was the morning man during most of that time.

Didnt like Hughes.. He was too stodgy and not at all even funny. He sounded old and tired.
Slade is great, and Hull man is the way to go for news delivery.

There's no point to listening to Slade for more than 30 minutes... there is virtually no change from segment to segment (except maybe the endless teases that take longer than the stories). If you want flawless, you can get some Microsoft voice product to read the news... I would prefer some personality & wit -- something sorely lacking in Slade's performance. He was fine when he was the traffic guy --he'd probably be fine doing the news -- I just get bored listening to him as the morning "personality" -- as much as I hate CC, I'd rather listen to Randy's "Morning Drive" on gst than Slade.DashRiprock said:Slade may "just read whatever is put in front of him", but he's usually flawless. He’s a real pro with a smooth delivery, but I see him as straight news while Hullinger is the lead.
