Smooth 87.7

I totally disagree with the notion that smooth jazz is an "old geezer's" 55+ format. The problem that I have experienced, with SJ and with other formats in today's radio environment, is that green AE's, young Brittany, or Tiffany, or Josh from sales, rarely listen to the station, and have no earthly clue on how to market same.

Frankly, the alcoholic, womanizing, cadillac driving, sleazy "Herb Tarlek" sales guys of the past could out sell the entire sales office at a station today... but then again, those guys had a much better product to sell...

Here's a question: What's going to happen when radio is so generally lousy, that younger demos have abandoned it altogether, and older demos (in diminishing numbers) is all we have left?

I really don't listen to regular AM or FM radio anymore, because of these continuous daily format changes, except for the news on WBBM that's the only station i listen to in the morning on my way to work. recently I've just switch to Satellite radio because I like to listen to the old music on Sirius XM, without having any commercials nor advertisement that would targeting the young listeners...

I'm not interested in satellite radio because I'm a radio geek, not just a "listener" who wants to be entertained.

I feel satellite radio is more for nationwide entertainment for a general listener.

No excitement of each local market, or chances to see how far signals can skip. THATS partially why I love radio.

Well I don't like radio anymore then the rest of us, because I am a music geek man NOT a talk show nor talk radio fan, and not even a sports fan. I like music to relax by going to and from work during my daily commute. I might be an old middle age person, and I have my rights of switching to satellite radio. if you like the daily format changes that's happening every minute in Chicago,
Well, then the radio geek is for you my friend. I do not know what kind of radio formats you like to listen to, but it doesn't really matter to me, because I am looking for relaxation, NOT stress....
