I read constantly about everyone writing off the smooth jazz format, but it isn't dead in all of the major cities. I know, Houston lost 95.7 as well, but how many hot hit stations do we need? 107.5 did well in the ratings here and now has been in the toilet since MOVIN!
92.5, 93.3 and 96.7 could go off the airwaves and few would miss them. If you go outside of Dallas for more than 50 miles south, 93.3 can't be heard and at night you can't get the Cowboys on night games since 1310 reduces their signal at night!
Back to my point, I cannot believe that any one of the above 3 stations couldn't move to smooth jazz and double or triple their current ratings. And i am 54 and have more disposable income that the hot hit listeners who are in their 20s-30s!
