Smooth Jazz out, but who's in?????

We need a new station thats plays old school and that plays todays music

We need Moving 95.7 in Htown or perhaps it can be named Jammin 95.7

We, kimosabe? I want the Wave to stay, not because I used to work there, but because I feel it can do better. Open up that playlist! Play more variety! Put that Movin format or whatever it is, someplace else.

I say flip both The Wave and KILT! But alas, it will never happen.

I was at a BBQ party this weekend and there were some ad agency people in the mix. The Wave rumor does seem to have some legs. There is a lot of chatter going on in that direction.

Within 6 months of the launch of The Wave (November 2002) there were rumors of a format change. I heard about those rumors the whole time I was there. Most of those came from people who wanted it to change, while offering a myriad of reasons why it won't make it.

Personally, I maintain it can survive by throwing out the damned research book and open up that library and play the music. Let the on air personalities set the mood by allowing them to mix it.

Every station in town has a change in it's future. It's just a matter time. It will either be sooner or later.

Like I said already alot of radio fans are listening to Praise 92.1 fm and besides Smooth Jazz is also good and I dont think its going anywhere for a while. I sure miss Power 97.5.

Just curious, how do you know alot of people listen to 92.1 or if The Wave is isn't going to flip? What do you base this on?
Opinion Obiously.
Well yes about the wave not fliping is an opinion but about 92.1 praise I know for a fact. Well lets say I know people that own Radio One. And Thats all Im saying.

That doesnt say much either. Of course they're gonna say that. I know people at Cox and they all the same thing.

Are there 'live' on air personalities? I only get to listen to it while stuck in traffic as I am button pushing. I thought it was voiced tracked?

THEIR air personalities are 'live,' with the exception of the overnight shift. The Wave has some liners. However, you are supposed to ad-lib around them. I've heard some of the new weekend people who are reading the liners and they sound like it. Perhaps the new cats aren't comfortable with ad-libbing, yet.

Smooth Jazz and K-Hits were both dead when they came on the air.

Incorrect! Smooth Jazz was not dead when it came on the air. In fact, it did very well. I was there at the beginning in November 2002. I watched the ratings grow. I left at the end of January this year. I don't know where you got that idea.

For the love of God, no one is going to pick up a rock format here in Houston anytime in the near future. Thank Cume-less for that! So, stay tuned for another long set of Fleetwood Mac, Foreigner, and Heart...on Houston's ONLY Classic Rock station. 93.7 The Arrow. Speaking of classic rock, is it just me or is K-Misses skewing more classic rock since KIOL's demise?
