So, MIKE FM. Does anyone really know...

Honestly (I'm probably gonna get killed for saying this in the Boston forum, but oh well), I'm sick of Kiss 108 getting huge ratings just cause no one's brave enough to compete with them - I'd love to see Mike FM flip to CHR just to wake them up and make them add some personality, creativity, and energy into their station outside of the Matty show
 
I don't see no problem to change to AC or HOT AC, or CHR. They can compete with the current AC, HOT AC, CHR stations. There are a lot of great music and radio programs out there. That's just my thought.
Radio Program Management Personel knows what they want.

If they havn't changed "Star 93.7" to (BORING) "93.7 Mike FM" None of this would have happened. There would've never been Pirate Radio stations in Boston, everything wouldve been fine. :mad:
If they kept "Star 93.7" they could've did fine by adding ??? shows like "Keith Sweat Hotel" and on the weekend have shows such as "Rick Dees Weekly Top 40", "Walt Baby Love", and "Your Weekend with Jim Brickman" to name a few. They would've been just fine!!! :'(


But no, they have to play bad rock and roll music ::) :mad: and :'(


They should've just stayed with "Star 93.7" :'(

that'd also be cool, but make it HOT AC. and go against MIX 104.1, There are lots of great radio programs out there



Anyone hear "5 O'colock Rush Hour" on 93.7. It's great!!! LOTS of great music. I'm loving that
 
What out of work local jocks would you like to hear on MIKE? Who is missed, but can still do radio? Like, I'd love to hear Capt. Ken Shelton again, but I don't know if he still has the voice for it.
 
Joe McMillan would be great for any format, but most recently he's been on Classic Hits/Oldies format. he has the voice. And his attitude both on air and in person is very nice
 
Lot of qulaity, experienced radio folks available. Boston names, and other New England folks ,too. I imagine Ron Valeri has been buried by the resumes, cover letters,and on air demos.

A few of the old 93.7 WCGY folks still boppin around who could fit right in,too.
 
See?, @DToTheJ, and Jimc, yeah, they should bring make it "Eagle 93.7" but this time make it HOT AC, go up against Magic 106.7 and Mix 104.1
And have some weekend shows such as "Your Weekend with Jim Brickman", Walt Baby Love Countdown", "Racing Country USA" "Rick Dees Top 20", "Country Cutting Edge" "Cafe Mocha" and "Country Hitmakers" to name a few. There are a lot of great programming out there. They can also look into having a One Minute News Update and One Minute Sports Update at the top of the hour, every hour 6am-Midnight. I have so many great ideas, but no one ever listen to me.

;D ;D Back in ?? 2002, it was 70 Degrees in December, it was about two weeks before Christmas here in Boston area. There were also Dragonflys flying around, in December!!!!!
I'm madddd scared of Dragonflys, that's my biggest fear.
So, don't be surprised, it will happen, maybe not with Entercom, maybe with Magic 106.7. It wouldn't hurt to play some new Eric Benet, New Freddie Jackson, new Kirk Franklyn, on Magic 106.7. This is 2011!!!! Don't be afraid to try new things. If I can be PD or Assistant PD of any of 93.7, 106.7, or 104.1, God, their stations would be the best station in the whole world. I'll bring them to another level.

If you think GM is going to blow up one of the highest rated stations in the market, WMJX, to do CHR/Churban, Urban, rap, or anything else you are wrong.

They are also not going to dilute Magic's brand by programming anything that would siphon listeners away from 106.7 to a new format on 96.9 either.

They are very careful not to do anything on 92.9 that would impact Magic's ratings, so I doubt they are going to blow up 96.9.

Now back to 96.9. FM talk is growing everywhere else in the country, I would suggest 96.9's problem is their talent, or lack thereof.
