So, MIKE FM. Does anyone really know...

No they won't.
PLEASE try to understand one simple fact:
If there was a profit in the music you like, someone would be doing it.
Get an XM radio already. Enough.

All their Program Management Personnel will say "Lauro was right!!! We should've listened to him"

TY

Now who knows someone at Entercom so we can weasel some info out of them?

Hi everyone, along with Rapking and Lauro, I too have made similar suggestions. However, I do feel in Lauro's defense, the corporate giants may actually be reading these boards and listening to the suggestions made here. Maybe not, but I think Lauro knows it is a possibility. That's why he continues to go on with his "campaign". I give him credit. He does not give up easy. I even noticed Mike FM now playing more rhythmic AC and soul music. Maybe a coincidence, but maybe not. If the corporate giants do ignore the suggestions made, it does not matter. The music can easily be heard online from stations in other cities, or from Youtube, so Boston radio is certainly not the only game in town.

Lauro is the J.J. Duling of the radio message boards. ;)

I'd imagine whomever is hired would have to go through a vigorous training course first... so it could be awhile...

Right. "Corporate giants" get their programming ideas from an Internet message board. Sure. Happens all the time.

[/sarcasm]

If the suits are reading these boards, they have to be chuckling, at least. Here in Philly, we have a guy who thinks that Standards would make money though the roof if on a decent signal. If that's not enough, he feels that an Active Rock/Alternative hybrid would also rake in the dough. He writes as if he failed 8th grade English, thinks Hispanic and R+B is a wasteland, and is a racist to boot. He also has a vendetta going against a small station down here that a friend of mine engineers, thinking the owner willl use the race card to try andf get more power, when he's effectively boxed in. LOL....

I heard from a reliable source they are looking for someone but they don't have a lot of cash to pay a great personality. It's great that they WANT to hire someone but who knows who they can get for pennies.

O.K. so if Mike plays everything, would they play the song "Hyperbolicsyllabicsesquadelamystic" by Isaac Hayes, if I requested it? ;D

Let me know if Mike plays any of the following:

ZZ Hill--Down Home Blues
Buddy Guy--Early in the Morning
Burl Ives--A Little Bitty Tear
Boogaloo Swamis--Big Bayou
Statler Brothers--Bed of Rose's (not a typo; "Rose" as in a woman's name)
Dead Kennedys--Holiday In Cambodia
Negativland--Christianity Is Stupid
Dick James--Theme From Robin Hood (spoofed as "Dennis Moore" on Monty Python)
:)

Then again they do sometimes have an "oh wow" type one hit wonder or something,
or something you might not expect like Dean Martin or Garth Brooks

I'd be happy if they played "Misty Blue", a 70s soul and pop hit by Dorothy Moore, which I played a couple weeks back...after mentioning that the record label that put it out,
Malaco in Jackson, MS, was pretty much destroyed by a tornado :'(

Here's some songs:
1. Bilbao Song - Andy Williams
2. It's Allright Ma, I'm Only Bleeding - Bob Dylan
3. I'm Confessin' - Frank Ifield
4. Sharleena - Frank Zappa
5. Hyperbolicsyllabicsesquadelamystic - Isaac Hayes
6. If Mary Only Knew - Bobby Pedrick
7. If You Leave Me Tonight I'll Cry - Jerry Wallace (The tune in Dan's Cafe from Night Gallery)
8. Laura Palmer's Theme - Angelo Baldalamenti
9. Whispering - Nino Tempo & April Stevens
10. The Big Hurt - Toni Fisher
11. Abalone Daze - The Mermen

Talent for pennies. A lot of out of work smallerr market announcers/personalities (experienced) would leap at the chance to for MIKE FM.
