So no one cares about the trends any more?

Hey 'Saur...
Which demo you think has more money (expendable cash) to spend on products advertised on the radio?
Would that be us "old folks", or those "cooler, younger ones?" hahahahahahaha!

Meep,

Yeah, we have more money, but we're smart enough not to buy the crap they're selling on their spots so they don't care about us!

25% of the Memphis market lives under the poverty line. Which stations cater to those demograhics?

It doesn't matter. The well off and smart people have already bought I-Pods.

Thanks for ruining radio, Clear Channel!

Well, in my cooler and younger days, I was barely making the rent and thought I had it made when I got cable...so there you go. An excellent point.

Plus, it might interest Mr. Crate to know I still listen to 'new music' if it interests me....although music's gone to Hell ever since Lawrence Welk died, don't you think, Meep? ::)

happy dads, granddads, and great granddads day to all of you!

hope you enjoyed your day!

;)

"I work with some amazing people at 93X and we all work our asses off to do good radio for cooler and younger people... There are many of you that don't even listen long enough to understand what it is that we do."

Crate's post is implying that 92.9 is a good radio station, but that we here are out of touch and we will never "get it" but by the looks of arbitron we in the upper demos are not alone in our misunderstanding of what 92.9 does.

I'm 32. I am a dad. and your post would seem to imply that 92.9 is a good radio station for younger cooler people. I was wondering do you think any of those younger and cooler people will get a diary someday? maybe the zipcodes for younger and cooler people are not known to arbitron.

there must be someone on this board who can shed some light on how 92.9 ranks with younger demos. by that I suppose he means something like persons 18-34. can anyone tell us?

I have not seen the latest trends but as I recall, WMFS has hovered around 10th place in the 18-34 demo over the past year. I think that Entercom has showed something that we have not seen in a while, patience. Obviously we all know that ratings make life easier but if your station is billing well and your staff is competent and happy, why rock the boat?

K~

how on God's earth could you possibly bill well when you're in 10th place in persons 18-34? If they're 10th person 18-34 then their ranking in the money demos must be awful. Does anyone here believe that a radio station ranked 10th in a demo few advertisers want can be "billing well"? Really?
