it needs to filp again and make it better and that being said going back the love format would be better than the junk there now and its 949 sister needs to dump the mega format and be better and let univision have the spanish formats all to themselves

oh stop crying and move into the new century get and HD radio and tune into 93.9 HD2 and you can still hear love 94
I agree. Yes, Love 94 was the wrong station to have been flipped, but there is nothing that can be done now. Mega 94.9 should have been flipped, and repackaged as I-95 with the WINZ-FM calls, with the rhythmic AC format. CC blew up the wrong station as they always do.

no not wiod fm and elevator music and something more current than micheal jackson and lou bega's mambo #3 maybe something like new rock thats continious instead the "new rock on 93ROCK" that sounds like they had in storage since 97gtr flipped

I'll be interested to see how they stack up against 101.5 and Coast as the 'listen while you work' station.

Speaking of new rock, 93 Rock should be focused on new rock and not be obsessed with trying to compete with Big 105.9. It is a very small piece of the ratings pie to try to fight over. Getting back to the subject of 93.9 MIA, they play other songs besides Mambo #5 and Michael Jackson. They also play new music also. There are playing songs that weren't getting any airplay on other stations before 93.9 MIA signed on. If they can manage to execute the playlist and format the way it is suppose to be done, they should easily be able to cause some damage in the ratings to 101.5 and to 97.3. As for new rock, it just does not get ratings here. I myself like rock, not here to bash it, just doesn't cut it with the demos here. Zeta and She 103.5 were the greatest stations to ever play rock. They just didn't cut it because of the demos of this area. Bottom line here, NO REVENUE, NO RATINGS, equals NO ROCK.

As long as they focus on the format, balance it out with enough new and old music, especially Miami freestyle music, they will do just fine in the ratings. There is an audience out there for rhythmic AC.They play songs that 101.5 and 97.3 won't touch. Alot of the music that 93.9 MIA plays is what helped Y-100 and Power 96 have strong ratings in the 80's. Those who were young and grew up here in Miami in the 80's are now adults in their early 30's through their late 40's. This demo has great spending power and is the desired demo that CC is targeting here. This is where the money is, not the aging 55+ demo, the real reason why love 94 got blown up.

Your pathetic, if they play anymore new music they will basically be another Y100 or Power 96, they are rythmic adult contemporary. 93.9 has a playlist that DEFINES Miami from the late disco 70's to 80's 90's Freestyle/ Dance and todays currents along with some Trance. And one more thing if you want to hear Love 94 get an HD radio they are on 93.9 HD2

TO Coast 97.3 and Lite FM watch out 93.9 MIA is something to be VERY VERY concerned about... i think coasts days are numberd

Why in the world would WMGE flip formats in a market that is 50% Hispanic where the PPM favors Spanish pop formats?

so what becomes a talker? the station i love 1059 or 1035? and yea i know it would stupid with Calle Ocho coming up and isnt it enough with The Street 98.3 , The Sun 95.7 and Classical 92.3 Tropic 1075 and Romance 1067 ?

No, hardly enough. Mega is Spanish language CHR, Kalle is all salsa, Zol is tropical, Clásica is Oldies, Amor 107.6 is Ballad and pop ballad, Romance is pop ballad in English and Spanish.

of course its not enough why would it be enough @ 6 stations cuz i forgot the la raza 1063 in homestead heres an idea tinker with the spanish language stations themselves you know what i mean david ** and ill beat you to the punch i know spanish isnt a format but read it and its like youre a bot

To shake things up in this boring market, what CC should do is put the classic rock format back on 103.5 as SHE 103.5 as it once was with Paul and Young Ron, and use the 105.9 frequency for the much talked about station on this board "WIOD-FM". Knowing how clueless CC is, they probaly will never do this since they have no clue on how to run sucessful stations. All they are good at is screwing up once great stations and making them lifeless. Lifeless radio does not make great radio. Wish the suits would get this in their thick heads.

WIOD is a marginal station at best. Compare it to heritage news/talk stations around the US and it's awful. It's not KDKA, WBT, WSB, KFI, WGN, etc. WHY is everyone continuing to talk about a move to FM?

Simulcasting news-talk AM stations is something typical that CC does. As I said in my last post, CC has no clue on how to run a successful station or better yet, program "great radio". All they care about is running their stations the cheap way. This would be the most cost effective way to run things since there wouldn't be anyone on the payroll to pay. If you carefully read these boards and read the main page of this website, you would realize that all CC is doing so far this year is layoff as much air talent as they can. CC's cost cutting crusade nationwide is the answer to your question of wanting to know why we all are predicting WIOD-FM in the near future if not soon. As for WIOD, it once was a great news-talk station. Had Cox Radio moved them back in the day to FM about 15 to 20 years ago, it would have been a hit in the ratings. Now it would be considered a "Cost Cutting Measure".

Every radio frequency needs to make money. A simulcast does not make a "stick" money. They would be better off with the AM talk station and an FM automated music box. A simuclast is HIGHLY unlikely. And the rumor of the move to FM WAS true. They "moved" WIOD to one of the HD channels on 93.9. (It was on 94.9)
