So When Will "The Wolf" Be Taken Out Back?

In this particular case, Gerry kept a lot of people on the payroll over the last two decades.
No doubt. This situation is like everything else, nothing lasts forever (at least here on Earth.)
Management and mandates weren't always logical, easy or fair with Gerry. Two decades is
a lifetime and a remarkable run. But, Gerry and his great team know when it's time to close
the chapter and maybe even the book. I think the timing is as good as it could have possibly been. AND, I doubt any other GM at any station in Nashville would say that it would make
sense to have basically passed on this morning team, regardless of what might have evolved.
Regardless of the stresses. Regardless of the fact that no one really knows what even this afternoon will bring.

Nothing like taking a big risk with a well thought out, educated guess...:)

I dunno Big A, again, I see the "logic" of playing it safe. I just don't always live by it or buy it.
A maverick at heart, I have taken those shots with strong personalities, and while the climb
wasn't always easy, carefree and/or painless...the mark was left, the benchmarks set and
the results were much more dramatic than playing the middles cards.

Then again, we call ALL name fiasco's and implosions of gigantic magnitude. Interestingly enough,
you still see a lot of personalities names from by-gone decades brought up on here as if they just left. I think a strong personality driven business is pretty much a must to catch all the flies. :)
But, it's not for the weak of heart. I will leave it at that.

Side note, I like the current 97.1 and i106, but since Cumulus refuses to bring back AC, why not make WNFN the first FM spanish and make 97.1 a stronger signal Top 40 "i97"? Did I mention Bob and Tom are a HORRIBLE fit for 97.1?
Please, not another change on 97.1 for a while, except to get rid of Bob & Tom, Nascar, and Vandy!

I previously suggested Spanish for 106.7, as well.

I've enjoyed the Classic Hits format that I've heard on 97.1 WRQQ. I've noticed that the jock talk breaks (at least from Mac in the afternoon) are quick and to the point, which seems to work out well.

Spanish on the FM dial (be it 106.7 or another signal) I would think could succeed in Nashville so long as the right sales department was in place to sell the numbers. Nashville's Hispanic population has grown considerably over the past several years, and with the proper format (such as Regional Mexican) I'd think there would be a loyal audience for it.

Cumulus isn't going to set up an second sales department that would sell in a different language, especially with 106.7 being the weakest link in their cluster. They'd have to sell to one of the Hispanic operators before you'd see this happen. And there are bigger companies who would be in line for the freq ahead of them, with bigger dollars.

I don't know... Can anyone else imagine Gerry House pulling a Brett Favre? Watch him resurface on The Wolf (if it's still on the air, of course) then in a couple of years, make his way over to KDF...

Hope you left money under your pillow for the tooth fairy as well.
