So, you're Mr. Citadel/Memphis...

Booker T., why the animosity? ???
The board is for discussion and that's what we're ALL doing.
If you don't like a particular thread..(DON'T FU<&ing READ IT!) ;D

I, for one, never said they ought to flip 100! If you're READING the posts...read the WHOLE post!
Do YOU have a dog in this hunt?

Besides, if you're still gainfully employed by ANY radio group in the Memphis market right now...you ain't so safe either!
And...the "retired, unemployed, etc. persons you're flaming on now, may very well be attached to the big, round booty you'll be kissin' in a few weeks. The personel wheel will be spinning very soon and you never know where anyone will land.

At least everybody on the board knows who all the people you named are.
You haven't graced us with your identity yet!

(That's okay, though...we all have a pretty good idea!)

You have a nice day...and get thet T&R up-to-date!
I've heard it's a bitch to have to apply to keep the job you already have!

Kisses! ;)
Meep!

And another thing is...

Entercom has been working on this deal for a long time. Trust me, they already have a game plan and folks like us don't know what it is. They will do what they're gonna do!

We are just speculating, guessing, making strategic moves in our minds, etc.
It's kind of like playing fantasy football, it'll be fun to see who is closest to right when the dust settles.

If anybody, (like Booker T) takes any of the crap on these type boards too seriously...well, they have some things they need to work on.

> At least everybody on the board knows who all the people you named are.

Actually, he got at least one wrong. 'Not so sure about some others. But, be that as it may...

Meepster is correct about an important point. Entercom SHOULD have a pretty good idea of what they plan to do. But, as Robert Burns once said (roughly), "The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry." Citadel's next move though may be a bit more off the cuff.

Things might change quickly, and one can never control what one's competitor might do if he feels threatened. So, we all can grab some popcorn and watch the show.

How about everyone calm down and think for once?

Entercom has already put WAY too much time and thought into this move. The FM 100 people are the staff that seem to be the ONE/FIRST target for the move. Ron, Steve, Karen and Tom make way too much for too little ratings.

They will flip 100 without the help or opinion of Larry Wheeler, Paul Hankins, Mike Bratton, Kay Manley, Tom Nichols or Kit Cason/Chris Baskind.

Please shut up and let the professionals and not the retired/part time/suck ups/unemployed change the market.

I don't know what precipitated that, but I hope we don't see it again.

Since I'm nothing if not a thinker... ::) ...my thought is Entercom spent an awful lot of money in Memphis to get 100 as is. Big payroll and all.

And here's a sub-topic for discussion: Is the relationship between payroll and ratings more compelling than the relationship between payroll and revenue?

Wellll...

First of all, looks like I'm not the one who needs to calm down.

This board is for discussion, and the folks on here know I like to throw out things to think about.

Do I think FM 100 will go country? Probably not, especially if the revenue is still there (another caveat I noted as well) but you might remember the WMC calls also have a country heritage. As for 30 years of CHR heritage, if that counted for anything, I think 100 would have better numbers. Plus, whatever you think of Ron, Steve, and Tom, they are household names in this market and if Entercom DOES do a Butler on them just for the $$ then you have to wonder how much of the loyal audience will stick around. What if all the women bail out...THEN what? I'll bet Entercom HAS thought of flipping it, and probably came to a decision on that months ago.

As for being 'professional'...Looking at the tone of your posts vs the others...well, that's just funny. As Meep so delicately put it, how sure are you YOUR job's safe? Especially with an attitude like your recently posted one...unless you're sitting in an ivory tower somewhere at one of the corporate HQ's, there's a good chance someone who can affect your job is reading these boards.

But what do I know...now back to my checker games at Cracker Barrel.

GREAT comment! Ratings don't always equal revenue and vice versa. Bottom line is money means everything. Sure, nice ratings help, but it ain't the end all. How much money did you bring in this month and did you keep the stockholders happy!

The 1960 Union building must be an interesting place these days. Nervous folks on the TV side and radio side. I'll drop off some Tylenol and Maalox.

In the end, I truly believe Entercom taking ownership of the CBS Memphis properties will be a good, positive move. Then again I thought the same thing when Infinity came into the market and I was wrong.

The best part is none of us sharing opinions are right or wrong so far. It is fun to speculate. It's they have message boards, right?

To look at RMarino's scenario, CHR may be the stupidest choice for any of the signals. We're so CHR heavy here it's nuts, why add another one? Unless it's Ghetto Rap, it won't draw flies (see 107.5).

Yes, far too many folks post what they'd LIKE to see, rather than what will probably happen.

CHR heavy? We've got one small signal CHR that doesn't even cover the market. How do you know that "FM 100" wouldn't succeed with an adult CHR approach?

And don't say I'm posting what I would "like to see." I haven't been a CHR listener since 1989, outside of a few good years here and there since then. So I would receive no personal enjoyment out of such an adjustment. In fact I like FM 100 as it is.

...and I suspect FM 100 will stay as it is, at least for the most part. Following up the ratings / revenue thread, one has to wonder if Ron, Steve, and Tom are making a positve cash flow for the station, even with all the longevity pay? If so, then it makes good business sense to keep them there...

Looks like someone's prescription has run out. Calm down.......have some dip.
