Maybe she needs the manuals because she's trying to land gigs at stations that have the software.

Maybe she needs the manuals to evaluate the features of all three to make a recommendation on which one to buy.

Maybe she needs to replace lost manuals.

Your answer is rude and uninformed. So sayeth the moderator.
______________

Uninformed? I work in software and have to deal with each of these software platforms everyday. If I can't get manuals for free to interface with these systems...why should she?

*If she's evaluating to buy, all she needs to do is contact the sales department of these companies and they will come visit and give her demos.

*If she's replacing lost manuals, why not contact the company and ask for a replacement?

*If she's just wanting to learn how to use...

She might be able to buy those manuals online at a nominal cost. She can simply call those companies and ask if their user guides are available for purchase. They might even have manuals at Barnes & Noble or wherever books are sold.

I just don't think getting the PDF's for free is an option, unless she can find a kind soul who'd email them to her. That has been known to happen and I consider it bootlegging.

Normally, software companies operate for profit. We don't offer stuff online for free because it's not "freeware" or "shareware". I'd love to know how to use all kinds of systems for free. That would be nice. But we don't live in OZ.

Love,
Slavie

Boy, will that come as a great surprise to the engineering community, who have for decades shared documentation amongst each other to replace lost docs.

And there are some companies that do make their manuals available to people who are just looking for software. Just because the company you work for doesn't do so, it isn't an industry standard practice.

Although I will withdraw my claim of your being "uninformed" (perhaps informed only about the policies at your company) I still believe your original reply was rude and mean-spirited.
______________

You don't know me, who I work with or what I do because I'm certain no matter what I say...you'll think I'm "mean". Boo!
Perhaps you just can't deal with the fact that you might be mistaken about my intention. Hopefully, my post will help the girl. The companies she mentioned are not beacons of generosity.

But...gosh I must be stupid not to be "in" with all the great software engineers that share intellectual property! Sign me up! I want to be in with the "cool" guys.

Nice to know this board has a moderator who is polite and has no chip the shoulder.

Boy, do I feel like a jerk!

How 'bout this observation. Your first reply did NOTHING to advance the need of the first post, except open up a discussion about whether or not you will admit that your response WAS rude. My suggestion, if you can't honestly answer the question, don't respond. I'm NOT a moderator, just a semi-regular visitor to this site. And, like the first post-er, there are times I need to look at manuals for software I don't have, to see if it will solve a SPECIFIC problem I might have, WITHOUT tipping off to (possibly) your software company's sales department that I'm interested, thereby having to deal with pushy salespeople that don't understand "I'm just looking, but, if I need help, I'll call."

WOW! I am radiogirl1111. I cannot remember my password for the life of me so I just created this account name for radio-info. I posted that MANY months ago and I still see it up on here. Thank you all for the response. However I am still in need of these PDF files. Why? Well because I wanted to learn the back ends of these programs. I asked several people (THE M.D.!) to teach me these programs and they got offended. As if I was STEPPING ON THEIR TOES. As if I wanted to learn them so I could eventually take their jobs away from them. Hell, if I was management I would encourage anyone wanting to learn these programs to expand their skills. Unfortunatly the management at my station did not see it that way. As far as that guy being rude.... I can see where he is coming from. I didnt get offended. I can clearly see his point. But, knowing how broke us radio people are (especially the common radio folk) would paying for these files really be justified if I just want to read these manuals? Manuals that my station already paid for? I could see if my station DIDNT but they have. To me I see it no different as if I got the manuals from management themselves. Thanks to the guy who posted his email to email him so he could send them. I shot him an email but apparently it didnt work. I guess he doesnt use that address any longer.

If you contact Prophet Systems Innovations, they will send you the help guide w/o any problems. The link that was provided earlier in this posting was for their employees to be sent to your site for on-site training.
