Some Fox affiliates say "No" to "Osbournes: Reloaded"

KDVR/Denver, WGHP/Greensboro, WDAF/Kansas City, WJW/Cleveland, and KSTU/Salt Lake City are also in the same boat. Did these stations air it? If not, then it was a corporate decision by the neocon Local TV...

According to the Washington Post, these cities delayed the special until later that night. Don't know about Cleveland, however, as it did not mention them.

For those who did air it, how were the ratings?

Despite the Idol lead-in (and in such a matter that it would be difficult to change channels), I won't be surprised if it becomes the next "Turn On".
WBRC/Birmingham, KTVI/St Louis, and WITI/Milwaukee are owned by Local TV, all of which are former Fox O&O's.
I think WBRC has been acquired by Raycom in a swap between Local TV as the latter picked up The CBS-Affilliate WTVR in Roanoke, VA.

WBRC's owned by Raycom. At least that's what it says at the end of their newscast every night.

As far as I know it was shown on WJW in Cleveland last night. Since FOX has hardly any shows that appeal to me [and I'd rather watch flies barfing then watch AI or the Osbournes]

Careful...you just might give FOX ideas about a new reality show (like we need any more of those).

Like I mentioned earlier, we showed it at 1:00 in the morning. We answered around 30 phone calls and a few more emails from angry viewers wondering why the Osbournes didn't air at 8:25. Unfortunately we only had one day's notice to warn viewers, so I could sympathize with them.

Correct. Apparently, it just changed hands two days ago (March 31st). It was a swap for WTVR/Richmond, which had to be divested due to Raycom's acquisition of WWBT (as part of the Jefferson Pilot deal).

Aren't they just driving traffic to Fox.com or Hulu? In this day and age, I don't think local stations can risk too many pre-emptions like this just because they don't care for one promoted program. And trust, there's a lot of stuff you can get lost watching on Hulu.

Sinclair owned WTTE DT 28 or UHF 36 aired it on the correct time. This is mild compare to there last show. I wonder if these three channels aired the short lived Sharon Osbourne syndicated show?

Plus this Hollywood/celebrity family sticking together. Unlike some hypocritical famous or infamous conservative personalities. For example Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin. ::)

In a letter in my local paper this morning, a writer
criticized WGHP/FOX8 for delaying the Osbournes'
show, but more importantly, not publicizing the fact
that the show would air in the Triad after midnight;
the show had been listed in the Greensboro News &
Record as airing after "American Idol." The writer went
on to say that Fox has shows with bad language and
subject matter in the early evening, so why delay this
one, which aired relatively late for Fox? The letter's
point was: let the viewers be allowed to see the show
at the scheduled time and let the ratings determine if
it should air there, not leave it to management to decide
before the program airs.

But as I said on another posting, this is a conservative
market and the managers of all big-four affiliates (WFMY,
WGHP, WXII, and WXLV) will not hesitate to pre-empt or
delay shows they find objectionable, or think their
viewers will find objectionable. The letter writer thinks
that should be the viewers' call, not management's.

I didn't see the show and cannot comment, but I understand
where this person is coming from. It's like WHDH's Ed Ansin
deciding that Jay Leno won't work at 10 PM when the show
hasn't even aired yet and there are no ratings to go by.

If those three Fox Affiliates aired Married... With Children in the correct time slots, when it was on, then they shouldn't complain about Osbournes Reloaded.

The Osbournes know that they're on Network TV and they were mild compare to their MTV series. As Network TV as the generic term not MYTV.

According to Wikipedia, it was mentioned that the show was cancelled. True or false?

Read the first three words of your statement very carefully... that should pretty much answer your question. ;)

WGHP aired "Married...With Children" in pattern from the
time it became a Fox o&o in 1995 until the show's demise
in 1997. I don't recall if the station got many--or any--
complaints about the show's content.

I watched The Osbournes Reloaded on KCPQ-TV last night and I don't see what the FOX affiliate fuss is about. Ozzy's skits were awesome. Wish I could say the same for the rest of his family, which drag down the show like an anchor. The marriage thing at the end of the show was pure cheese....

Jack Osbourne certainly got a Ryan Seacrest makeover from hair to shoes and lost a few pounds. He doesn't look as geeky now. Sharon is as catty as she's ever been and Kelly....well, you figure....

The best part of the show was Ozzy and Kelly working in fast food.......

Not the GREATEST show - leaves a LOT to be desired.......
Yeah, I enjoyed it. Not the guy getting put on the spot about getting married--how embarrassing would that have been? But the fast food skit was the best. Those foul-mouthed kids were great.

Will this ever be on again?
