Some Jax Radio Reflections

RadioBum - It isn't whether or not WFYV is called Rock 105 or Rock 104.5. That makes no real difference at all in terms of turning listeners away or retaining them and gaining new ones. It won't although there is a certain psychological factor or facad in an attempt to "fool" listeners into thinking "The New Rock 104.5" is, indeed, a new radio station. Listeners will stay with WFYV because they like what they hear on the air - PERIOD!!! If the market likes what is on the air, they will always come back. If they don't like it, they will tune in to another station or listen to their ipods or internet audion stream. It's simple as that. If the programming doesn't grab the listeners attention, it doesn't matter what you call the station although in this age of digital technology, I believe it was long overdue to change the moniker from Rock 105 to Rock 104.5 as it reflects the actual frequency and digital read-out on an FM receiver.

What a curious time to change when we now have PPM in Jax. The logic behind exact frequency would have been five, ten years ago. It is Branded as Rock 105!
