Just wanted to make note of a couple of things gong on.
First, Ron I really like the job you are doing on Kool 98 in the afternoons. You're a perfect fit for Landon's old slot, I hope you keep doing it. You sound good! Kool 98 sounds good!
Second, I think True Country 105.3 might actually make get some very good ratings, could actually make a dent in the Lubbock market. I saw the first comercial on KCBD yesterday. Looked very polished and professional. The stations also sounds a lot better than it did as JACK. Sound is in stereo, and the signal sounds better now. Be afraid KQBR, be very afraid. KLLL might have something to worry about too. Promises to be a good 3 way race.
Third, I really like the new Channel 8-7-7! It too is in stereo now, and the Pop-Alternative they are playing is something that hasn't been heard in the Lubbock market before. 8-7-7 now occupies the key on my car radio that used to be reserved for JACK. The JACK format has yet to resurface in Lubbock, and I wonder if it will.
Finally, I've caught a few bits here and tere of the new morning show on Z102, and I have to say, it is very good. This is perhaps the best thing I have heard in Lubbock since Jay, Chris and Dina were on the Z. It is no suprise that this show comes from the station where Jay Shannon is the PD. If Z102 could just do some TV spots and throw up some billboards, Z102 might make a come back, imo.
All good stuff!
