Larry, you'd know that better than any of us, having been one of WAXC's original architects back in the day--but it makes me ask one other question (admittedly off-topic for this thread); how many people did that merry-go-round of Rochester weekend CHR radio in the 70s, and what ever happened to them all?
 
The Route 81 stations were a market-leading group, very well run, with an excellent local news-talk morning show simulcast on 1230 and 1450. They were generating broadcast cash flow in the range of $400K, no mean feat in a market that size. Their studio and office facility on Market Street in Corning is a showplace.

The stations fetched about what they were worth, so this was a good transaction. If my sources are correct, it was an all-cash deal. It's not even in the same league with WDNY AM-FM.

That being said, I hope WDNY gets every dollar they're asking for!! ;)
