I just heard "All By Myself" by Eric Carmen on America's Best Music.
Lots of musicians are in self-quarantine right now. I just saw this tweet from the lead singer of a late 60s pop band:
I am happy I am a Hermit now! --Peter Noone
But he'll always be Henry the Eighth, he am, he am.![]()
Those do fit the format. So do "Mr. Lonely" by Bobby Vinton and "Only the Lonely" by Roy Orbison. The Motels also did a song called "Only the Lonely".Tell us when you hear "Alone Again Naturally" or "In My Room."
Back in the 80s I heard a gold-leaning AC play a song called "Industrial Disease"."Shake The Disease" Depeche Mode
Wikipedia says (and there is a source!) Dr. Zubin Damania has done it.A few days ago I heard an AC station here in NJ (Magic 98.3/WMGQ) play Queen's "Under Pressure". Totally off-format for them, but still a great song to hear on the radio.
And Weird Al has declined to do a "My Corona" parody of "My Sharona":

I'm guessing the song is "If I Can't Have You" by Shawn Mendes. "I'm good at keeping my distance.""Can't Feel My Face" by The Weeknd is good advice, so it should stay on playlists.

Broadcasting & Cable called it an AC, but I think the station also played "Roundabout" by Yes.That's Dire Straits. Unusual selection for a Gold AC, considering it's clocks in at nearly six minutes AND an AOR track that never crossed over into pop or AC. I don't think it even charted high enough for that. But it does pop up occasionally on your deeper Classic Rock/AAA stations.
