Songs taken off playlists during the Coronavirus saga

Led Zeppelin, In My Time of Dying.

Ok there are a few from Physical Graffiti

In the Light, Sick Again. Trampled Under Foot.

I've seen them in various places. I never did care for Weird Al's parodies but I suppose it could be one of his. Probably not, though, not this early in the situation.

I've also seen "brackets" for a disease "tournament" posted, for basketball fans who miss the NCAAs. The first round matchups are Coronavirus-Chicken Pox, Measles-Polio, SARS-Strep, Cholera-Influenza, Ebola-Mumps, Malaria-Zika, Smallpox-Rubella and Botulism-Swine Flu. Chicken pox and mumps don't have a chance, but rubella or polio could spring an early upset.

I heard "My Corona" on the opening of Stephen Colbert's show. It appeared to come from his writers' imaginations, as do all of their openings.

Actually there are several parodys of "My Sharona/My Corona on YouTube. Some are quite clever. It was pretty obvious that someone would spoof My Sharona. That the first potential parody that popped into my head.

Two Bee Gees songs from Saturday Night Fever that probably aren't on many playlists: "Night Fever" and "Stayin' Alive." (We can still try to understand The New York Times' effect on man, however.)

Fever -- Little Willie John, heard just now on WDRC-FM HD2, Hartford, an automated deep-playlist '50s and '60s oldies channel, played between Sure Gonna Miss Her -- Gary Lewis & the Playboys and She's a Rainbow -- Rolling Stones.

The huge playlist has been in place for many years, through three ownership groups, so no thought was given to the context of the song played.

What about "Tragedy"? ("You lose control and you've got no soul!") I could say that it's about Trump but that's another thread. :)

Have any of these songs actually been pulled or are these mere suggestions?

Perhaps, at least at Sirius, 2 songs might be added to the 70's on 7 playlist. "Back Off Boogaloo" and "Leave Me Alone (Ruby Red Dress.)

Both have been played in the past week on that channel. In fact, "Leave Me Alone" is one of only three Helen Reddy songs played on '70s on 7 this YEAR, according to xmfan.com's search results, the others being "I Am Woman" and "Angie Baby." "Delta Dawn" hasn't been heard since last April, "Somewhere in the Night" since 2016, "You and Me Against the World" since 2014.

On a more serious note, here's an article on whether playlists should change due to the virus. Interestingly enough, radio listenership is way up and streaming is generally way down--except for kid's music and classical.

I've been listening to classical music almost exclusively. I liked it before, but always as a late-night change of pace from the rock, oldies and country I usually listened to. Now that I'm stuck in the house pretty much 24/7, I find I prefer instrumental music that still has depth and variety but doesn't become tiresome with extended listening. Classical fits the bill for me.
