KASPER......Whatcha Gon'Do
Kasper was HUGE here in Myrtle Beach; sadly, because it wasn't on a major label, a lot of cookie-cutter PDs and "brand managers" (read: corporate hacks who call the shots for multiple stations in various parts of the country w/no regard for locals' music tastes) paid it no attention.
I know the indie pushers try to work a lot of truly dreadful stuff, but that doesn't mean it's all discardable. This was a SMASH here; EVERY time it played, we'd get a call wondering who it was, what the title was, where to buy the artists's stuff, or something along those lines.
Somebody else said it earlier in this thread (and it's been said, and TRUE, time and again) there are TOO many PDs and "brand managers" RE-acting to charts instead of being PRO-active with music; and people WONDER why radio's losing it's relevance with an audience who has MANY avenues to learn about new music other than their local hit radio station....
...that, and ramming Seacrest down listeners' throats... yeah, that'll make people put you #1 on their pre-sets.... please.
