Sophie for Sale?

No, you're missing nothing, she's missing a lot. Including about a full share at each of her stations.

I believe this is the first time CBS as ever had a single PD "running" two stations in different cities.

Infinity did this before with a PD of PLANET FM. She went to Wash DC and did Philly too .... can't place her name. Time frame 1998 or 1999.

In a report on R&R online today Ms. Fruge says "she is honored to have been given the opportunity to run two of the most unique and important radio stations in the country!" I'm sorry, but is she kidding? Unique and Important? In the country? Am I missing something here?

It actually makes GREAT sense! You see, that way, CBS only has to fire ONE PD instead of TWO when they pull the plug on Alice/Sophie... ;D

I guess in a sense that was my point. With her now also PD of ALICE, they "replace" Mike Preston with.... someone already under contract, and when CBS (potentially) spins off San Diego to Lincoln or whoever, there's no pay off required.... and she continues to run ALICE through to its conclusion.
