News talk seems like a logical outcome, but maybe Randy will take a second look at the numbers and see that well programmed alternative stations are actually performing well in some major markets now...check LA and Houston for example. Active rock is headed down the tubes, but alternative does a better job of drawing an evenly balanced male/female audience in some very desirable demos. I've been listening to 'RXP quite a bit online recently (terrible stream, BTW), and it seems to me that there's a lot of room for improvement, by positioning the station more in an alternative direction and freshening/upgrading the overall imaging. Many of you will say "dream on", but to me it would be crazy to pull NYC's only contemporary rock station off the air without first seeing if there isn't an effective way of building on its existing listenership. The situation in Chi-town seems to be different.
