Yes.

I remember 940-WINZ, was doing a pretty decent job of Top 40, during the spring of 1971, as well.


WQAM jocks had a job action in July, 1971 and were all fired

I have to just guess John Kennedy. It seems ever city has named a street after MLK and JFK. But who has named a Robert Kennedy street? Not even in New York where he was our senator.

In Washington DC I have a friend living on Kennedy Street, but the street has been Kennedy Street for over 100 years. It far up in the NW and just a small residential street near Georgia Ave as a cross street.

Sliphead Road and Clinton Street

Hi Peppertree! I was just in your shopping
center today.... In a great Cuban/Mexican
restaurant: La Bamba.

Here's a hint: formerly called Sliphead Road (in
Port Everglades). It's not a recent change. I made
up a trivia quiz with this in about '74. It still
stumps people.

There's a Clinton Street in Buffalo and many other
places in NY. And it's not named after Slick Willie or
the Junior Senator. (Maybe they never name streets after
carpetbaggers.)

It was named after Governor DeWitt Clinton, responsible
for the Erie Canal.

For New York, I have one better. In Brooklyn the is a Clinton Street and a Bush Street and there is an intersection not too far from the Brooklyn Bridge and the old Navy Yard, of Clinton and Bush Streets.

Though I lived in Miami Beach for nine years and went to high school in Coral Gables, I do not know a lot about Hollywood. I knew that the streets had presidential names. I used to trade with a lady in Hollywood, about ten years ago. We were both fans of the Stu Goldstein Show on WMRZ/WAXY.

OK. Then here's the answer. Eisenhower Blvd, the main
street of Port Everglades. (It's not very well known
that most of PE is in Hollywood, even though it's on the
Ft. L. street numbering scheme.) Fortuitously, I was on
that road yesterday, just a day after asking the question.

Better than that, if you're ever in traffic behind a
Cheyney (I think that's correct) Bros Provisions truck,
read the "small" print. One of their product lines is
Bush Beans. I noticed that in the 2000 campaign.

Since the previous subject line was inadvertently
"Sliphead Road and Clinton Street" I thought
some explanation was necessary.

It refers to slips where boats are parked. (It was the
main street through Port Everglades.)

I thought this followup was appropriate in case
any of you have a dirty mind.
