Confused here...I can track Paul Harvey's local affiliation here back to 1950 at WBAP/WFAA (when they timeshared; Paul was broadcast over 570 then,) then to WBAP-820 after the timeshare agreement ended in 1970. So why do I remember hearing Paul Harvey over KRLD in the early 1970s? There's even some guy on the web who has an aircheck of Harvey on KRLD dated July, 1974. Was he carried on both KRLD AND WBAP? (Considering the separate Dallas AND Fort Worth markets up until 1973~ish, I guess it's possible, but the Dallas Morning News archives are of no help. Then again, the DMN never did anything to plug KRLD, since it was long-owned by the Times Herald.)
I know some folks are used to hearing Chapman filling in for Paul, but remember the longtime stand-in during the 80s and 90s? No other than the late Joe Holstead of WBAP, who covered for Paul's vacations and days-off from 1984-92.
