Z ROCK from ABC Radio Networks in Dallas went off the bird December 31, 1996...
In fact, I turned off the transponder uplink after the goodbye that lasted 15+ minutes into 1997 from the on air staff. It was NOT a Happy New Year that night

I think there is an active rock on XM and Siruius isnt there???

Houston radio stations will not truly listen to their listeners. That is why the most requested song on KTBZ, System of a Down's "BYOB" only gets limited airplay. Active rock is the winning formula that KIOL so desperately needs. Even with a weak signal they will still see a better following and gain more respect in the community with such an improvement to the station.
