sporting news radio (we hardly knew ya)

I doubt that. Especially since - even for the last year he was at FSR - he had NO flagship station, as Washington's WTEM/980 switched to ESPN Radio. (How embarrassing is THAT - broadcasting nationally, but not in your home market?)

Many hosts don't broadcast in their home market, but what's worse is they replaced him on his flagship station with Mike and Mike, who were already on co-owned stations WWXT and WWXX.

Czabe still has a successful gig as co-host of WTEM's afternoon show, and that's not going anywhere. Maybe a self-syndicated effort... if that.
He posted this on his blog. Read from it what you will.
" For everyone who said: “I’m cancelling my XM subscription now” I say this: don’t. Don’t because it’s still the greatest thing ever invented for a radio fan. And well, if you cancel, and then have to un-cancel later, that would be a hassle, right? Just sayin…. "

I think all that means is he might show up on a network that XM is able to simulcast. Someone like Dial Global or Talk Radio Network could pick him up to syndicate if they wanted to get into the sports talk biz.

.......or maybe he'd go exclusive. He's in DC, where the XM base is.

WBZ-FM 98.5 The Sports Hub Boston had it when they debuted in Aug., overnights and weekends, but 2 months later
after ESPN's departure from 890 and 1400 caused those stations to go temp. off the air, WEEI swooped in
to pick up ESPN for nights, weekends, baseball playoffs, etc.--and thus Fox Sports Radio was there for the taking and Sports Hub did just that. JT the Brick has cult following in Boston

Technically some SNR is still available on WWZN 1510, when they aren't doing brokered prog talk, but not as powerful a station

so 3 months later and they are still on the air.

However..if you go to radio.sportingnews.com it's now different then sportingnewsradio.com.
The most updated interviews on the first site are from a couple of weeks ago.
On the the bottom of the page for sportingnewsradio.com it says Mission media group 2010
So, did the parent company sell off the radio division like was speculated here a few weeks back? I can't find anything in google anywhere.

I couldn't find it using Google but I searched my inbox. From the 1/20/10 Taylor on Radio-Info:

"Did Sporting News Radio just get sold?

"I'm hearing that SNR president Clancy Woods put together a persuasive offer and presented it to American City Business Journals. American City found itself in the radio syndication biz in 2006, when it bought the Sporting News publication from Paul Allen. The three Sporting News O&O radio stations in L.A, Boston and New York were sold in separate deals, but the radio syndication went with the publication. "

if anything would be going away, I would have to say, and sorry for saying this, I would have to say "Sports Byline USA"
One of their shows is "Fish Talk"
WHo would listen to "Fish Talk" on the radio, please tell me who?

Outdoor sports (hunting, fishing, etc.) are a big deal in a lot of "flyover country" from Iowa to Alabama. The newspapers and TV stations talk about them, why wouldn't a radio station?

It sounds like Sporting News Radio has a new infusion of cash from new investors. I'm not sure how many ownership changes this makes but it must be at least 4 over the last 15 years. I just wonder though if they keep losing money just how many more lifelines will they be given. I think it's smart to add Jacobs and Czaban but if the payroll has gone up significantly, I imagine the revenue better increase soon!

Mission Media also plays a role in the ownership of all-sports station KGOW-AM in Houston.
