No problem, in a written medium like this things can be misunderstood. It sounds like we are on the same side and I too had a bout of negitive feelings today. Case in point see my post about The Lake above.
Why must we have two of everything and 0 of so many other formats? Can't anyone come up with something origional? If not, soon it will be 7 rock stations and 3 country stations in each market. Why is it when there were fewer station we had more variety? Today all that matters is ratings but ratings don't always equal great radio.
Oh and back to KB it frustrates me to no end that the people outside of Buffalo seem to enjoy it more than the people in Buffalo!
ART, yes radio when it's good can be art. I would like to hear a station like WADV today even though I am from the rock and roll generation. Sometimes you just want to hear something different and from the little bit I've heard of WADV it was one of a kind.
I think there is one thing we can all agree on is Buffalo has always been a great radio market. Miami while good couldn't come close but maybe I'm biased because that's the first radio I heard...Nah.
Oh and you should always be able to hear a good Polka on the radio in Buffalo. I'm not Polish but when I hear a Polka on the radio I know I'm home. No matter where I roam Buffalo will always be home!
