How did Star begin its format? Stunt? Outright flip with barely any announcement? I've found that it started on April 1, but don't know a time.
encarta95 said:Two reasons for the downfall of Star 93.7:
1. Lack of musical direction - throughout the station's life, the actual format varied from Jammin' Oldies to contemporary dance to hot AC. There was also a poorly-planned trek into Christmas music one year. Every six-months, the station would seem to have a new angle on what it was doing. It was like the WBOS of rhythm.
2. The adult hits phenomenon - If Entercom didn't take the plunge, CBS was about to the next day. That's why a quick announcement by a startled Fast Freddy led to the launch of Mike FM.
Hey NOW! That is an aircheck of Chuck Perks when he worked at Star 93.7. Chuck works at the Sports Hub and is now looking for fulltime work. Hello Cadillac Jack?cbf8989 said:Here is an air check from Star 93.7 from 2003. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJxYSlyaLuk
