Star 94-1 has been teasing an announcement at 3PM today.
Don't teased announcements tend to be more about new contests or new promotional tie-ins than actual news like format flips or changes to the timeslots that matter (drive times), which tend to come out of the blue?
Here we go! Sounds like the new BIG 94.1 is coming. Hits from the 80s, 90s & 2000s.

Music sounds pretty good (it's like you're high on caffeine and sugar) but the voiceover guy is awful! So flat and boring! He doesn't go with the new Rhythmic AC format at all. Plus they need to add some imaging and sweepers.
I was surprised when they didn't go this route last fall. Rhythmic AC is a logical format hole in Atlanta. Entercom is having great success with this format at KTWV in LA. It's #2 there, and it has potential to do the same in Atlanta. It fits where music is right now.
There are gigantic differences between the stationality and song categories when one compares 94.7 The Wave to Star 94.
