Stars 97.3 Stunting

Going to flip To Hot AC As 97.3 Yes FM 80's,90's And now
I wonder if they got rid of Delilah and John Tesh...

I'm guessing they will "flip," re-launch, whatever at midnight (it wouldn't make sense to play 9/11 tributes on the 12th)

I just hope with this new station the format is consistent. Stars in my opinion had one of the most wacky playlists i've ever heard. You could turn on the station one day and hear 80's music. Another day you could tune in and hear artists like Lady Gaga, Rihanna, sometimes even rap! Then another time you tune in, you hear mushy love songs.

The format on Stars was just odd to me. Sounded nothing like a soft rock station. Sounded nothing like a "mix" station. Sounded like a big mess to me.

Top 40 or Adult Hits with a name like that.

Looks like I'm wrong about the launch time. Went right back to the format shuffle playing yes songs. Maybe they will make the official change in the morning?

6:30 this morning and still nothing. I heard some commercials and then back to the 'yes' songs. I don't understand the logic of stunting into Monday.

From the stunts I've heard in the past they usually last the weekend and then Monday the new format starts. That is unless they want to coincide it with a time that matches their frequency, but that doesn't work for 97.3.

Try 10am, noon, or 5pm. Those are some of the times stations usually launch.

here's another scenario....IF all these Yes songs mean anything, might be a good bet they're going with a Contemporary Christian format. the only reference to Yes in terms of radio & formats are stations like this.

I happened to catch the launch when I was listening on my phone at the gym. I wanted to record it too but couldn't unfortunately.

My first impressions are that it sounds maybe 5% local, and 95% syndicated. Nothing bores me more than to hear a station that is mostly syndicated. Haven't been able to listen to it enough but may sound similar to Mix 102.9 in Dallas...except with more syndication.

I'll still give it a chance though. I just hope there is at least something local on here besides the commercials!

Who wants to take a guess on how long it takes Ramar to launch the website?

my first hunch was correct, why would i think they would have ANY imagination over there...same crap, different name=same result.
its the obama format, keep doing the same thing expecting a different result.

Looks like all 80's lunches on 97.3!

Weren't they doing that before on Stars? Sounds like they traded Seacrest for Rick Dees. Similar programs it sounded like. To this point (only about half an hour of total listening broken up sporadically today) it hasn't been much if any different than the old Stars. Can anyone tell a difference? I generally like the 80s 90s and now format. Mix in Dallas is great.

if there is ANYTHING good about this move, at least they are telling people WHAT "KIND" of radio station they are.."80's-90"s & now... with the moniker "Stars" nobody knew exactly WHAT it was or was trying to be... at least now, listeners might know what to expect(or be warned).. at least they have more Focus, but in the end its really new paint on the same old barn.
