State College Top 5

Ok I figured I would throw a few names into the hat. 1. Jason Jackson - WZWW (3wz, I knew him when he worked at B103, great guy and has definatly grown into a well rounded DJ)2. Glenn Turner - WJHT (Hot 103, Known Glenn a long time, hell of a radio jock, although sounds much better on WBUS, Hell of a club DJ too)3. Dangerboy - WJHT (Hot 103, not sure if he left yet, but the boy has/had potential)4. Jackie Flick - WUBZ (The Buzz, Great voice, even though we only hear her on the weekends)5. AJ - WGMR (G101, just because I had to throw myself in there somewhere....hahahahaha

Strange, but nobody has mentioned the two top rated morning acts in State College: Froggy's Steve Kelsey & Kellie Green or 3WZ's Steve Jones & Dave Kurten. Gotta go back years and years to find anyone coming close to either of them. Is the trick to being a dominant morning talent just a matter of showing up every day for 15 years?

1. Kelsey - FROG - (One of the people I looked up to when I was a young DJ)2. Glen Turner - Hot 103 - (He has been in and out of town, but always professional and sounds good)3. Dave McCall - G101 - (WPRR or whatever it is now has not had numbers in the 10's since he left)4. Steve Jones - 3WZ - (He has been around forever and brings in solid numbers)5. Mike Donovan - WOWY - (Mike has been a solid jock and programmer for many years in State College)

When I visited a few years back...I thought that Grant @3wz was clearly the most witty and talented. Yet he was unobtrusive and there was a nice flow inbetween sets. That kind of talent is rare these days..he could work anywhere he wants. State college is lucky to have him!

Does anybody know whatever happend to Tom & Karen from 97QWK back in the early 90s? They were the best team EVER to come through here.

Tom & Karen went to Buffalo, NY, where they were an afternoon team for a while. Tom is still on the air in Buffalo, Karen is a school teacher in Pa
