Stations changing hands in the Wilmington area..

According to the "Wilmington Star News" the radio puzzle is starting to come together, here's what is going to
happen in the coming weeks...

98.7 will go from Spanish to Modern Rock on Monday, January 3rd.

"The Penguin" 106.7 will probably move to 98.3 on Saturday, January 1st, this will be a good move since it will
give them a better signal.

About that time "The Word" 1180 AM will move to 106.7 FM.

And i still believe, 1180 AM will be sold to another broadcast group, and if so, look for them to go Secular
Spanish this time.

The current on-air people at 98.3 will go to 98.7, and i wonder what the new morning show will consist of?, and those right now at "The Penguin" will remain.

I was hoping 107.5 would move to 98.7, 104.5 be moved to 107.5, and 630 AM would go to 104.5 FM, maybe
98.7 will evolve to "Classic Rock" down the road, if so, "The Bone" and "The Hawk" could be in trouble.
 
I'll tell you who is going to be in trouble. 94.5 101.1 103.7 105.5 106.5.....long story short every rock station from North Myrtle Beach to The Outskirts of Raleigh are in big trouble because 98.7 Will not be your run of the mill alternative format. 98.7 is targeting a slightly older audience while throwing in some currents..smart move for Sunrise. Why are so many radio stations going to have to watch out; because I looked at 98.7s signal and it reaches North Myrtle Beach on the southern fringe; the western fringe touches Raleigh and the northern most coverage area reaches Elizabeth City. I knew someone that could pick our 98.7 up in Elizabeth City, not WNOR. All I can say is Sunrise must have had months and months of meetings regarding "Coastal Carolina's Modern Rock"
 
I can't get it in Greenville and it barely even reaches Kinston. 99.5 and 101.1/105.5 may need to worry a little (3 rock stations serving Jacksonville is waaay overkill) but 106.5 is going to be just fine.
 
The future of 106.7 is up in the air. My sister met with someone from Carolina Christian; I believe it was someone in station managment and they are going bankrupt. If this is true what could happen to 106.7? Who would buy it and what format will ultimatly end up there?
 
It would be a shame if "Carolina Christian Radio" would go bankrupt, they have worked hard for almost 18 years
to present a product, but giving must be down a lot, i'm sure soon decisions will be made to which stations are
underperforming, one was WMYT(1180), the others have to be WLSG(1340) and WWIL-AM(1490), as far as the
FM's go, WZDG(88.5) might be on the bubble, the others, WDVV(89.7) along with WWIL-FM(90.5)might wind up
the only two they will hang on to, the two AM's might as well go silent, and as for 88.5, they ought to sell it to
either "K-Love" or "Go Mix Christian Radio", which is constructing a new FM at 90.9 in Magnolia, located in Duplin
County, 88.5 could penetrate their service into Wilmington, in terms of 106.7, if Jim Stephens only paid $152,000
for this frequency, he should put in to good use and move "The Word" here.
