Steaming Companies and Station Groups In Talks to Take Over Local NBA and NHL Rights

Tegna owned KENS named to air San Antonio Spurs games.
wonder if this opens the door to Paramount Global either buying out Bally Sports Southwest or just buy out the rights to the Rangers, Stars & Mavs to boost up KTXA 21 & KTVT CBS Texas aka CBS 11.

i could see Bally Sports Southwest become CBS Sports Texas if Paramount bought them out.

KTXA is already the overflow channel for when the Rangers, Stars and Mavericks have a local broadcast game scheduled on the same night. Also, the Rangers were on KTVT when it was an independent television station. The Stars and Mavericks were on KTXA when it was not a duopoly with KTVT. So far it seems that the Stars and Mavericks are sticking with Diamond Sports for at least this season is concerned.

It will be interesting to see who they Farm the CBS programming to. Especially when a few Saturdays on the list are deep into possible NFL Playoff territory.

If and when both NESN and other various sports cable channels close would the Bruins, Celtics and Red Sox all move over to WSBK TV 38?

The Yankees own the majority of YES and the Knicks/ NY Rangers own MSG.

Many other similar RSNs have levels of team ownership, which is different from the Bally's RSN.

The non-team RSNs are the ones in limbo, and it's up to the teams to decide how they want their media done.

yes I know.

Keep in mind that the Red Sox own 80% of NESN.
The Sox and Bruins appear safe from the RSN collapse for the time being. But what of the Celtics, on Comcast's NBC Sports Boston, whose programming outside of Celtics games and related shows is dire? There's a Patriots talk show, but (of course) no games, and "Felger and Mazz," a radio show from Boston's also-ran sports station, WEEI. After that, various tout shows, umpteen thousandth reruns of the highlight film of the Celtics' last championship, and "Boston Sports Tonight," which repeats six times after its first airing. How long can this weak lineup attract the advertising need to keep NBCSB afloat, especially amid cord cutting?

Are all the NBC SNs just as bad or is it only Boston.

Here is one specific to LA Lakers fans and local broadcast rights.
Hopefully one comes to KC.
