"Maybe it's just a passing fad, but I can see some good things for Crawford down the road in Rochester."

What they need to do now, to maximize the potential appeal, is emulate WCBS-FM in New York and go to a personality-driven classic hits format, since that's really what "oldies" means for the boomers and the leading edge Gen-Xers who are radio's current prime targets. Have a big library, concentrate it on the years from 1964 (the British Invasion and the heyday of Motown) to about 1988, the end of the real mass appeal top-40 era before music fragmented totally. Just for fun, throw in a few later cuts from core artists from the era (say, a Stones cut from the Bigger Bang album or something off the new Al Green album that charted high this summer).

The Yank-ees have certainly had a tough season. And to think they had it all well in hand.....then it slipped through their fingers....

Ah, well: whether it's pontificating in Crawford's "The Local Onanist" (and using an official company publication to taunt a market competitor) re: the wonders of HD Radio, scheduling Starland Vocal Band for the 15th time this week in drive time (followed by Bubble Puppy) or loading up loony forehead-smacker 1965 PAMS imaging...."it's all in the wrist." ;) :D

Hey Paul,

Glad to hear ya back on the air again. I listened to your gig on 'KLX what seemed like a long time ago. But just a quick question: whatever happened to Bill Tod? Or Todd?

Thanks

Hey Bill,

Bill Tod unfortunately is no longer with us. I don't want to say what happened to him on this board, but send me a message, and I'll give you the details. Thanks for the nice words however, it's good to be on-air at Legends. I've been at several other stations since the WKLX Days here in Rochester as well, but moved to Television about 14-years ago.

The Onan thing has nothing to do with starting up the standby generator, BTW.... ;)

Let's hope that they have one with an electric start. I sure wouldn't want them to have to yank it by hand...

Followed the link... and found that Onan is now "Cummins Onan"! It just doesn't get better than that!
