Mike had a pleasant voice and sounded like a pro, but he didn't do much except read the liner cards. Obviously with a music-intensive AC format, that's the primary duty for the DJs, but there is still room for any of their DJs to have a more exciting and energetic style, and the difference on Steve O'Brien's first day was immediately noticeable... for example, Steve actually talks up a song and hits the post, rather than just using the station's jingles to intro and outro all the music.
Nonetheless, WMGQ's two prevous morning show hosts (Lou Russo and Joel Katz) have both reappeared on other NJ stations, and I wouldn't be surprised if Mike Manion does the same.
