Steven Blood's 2013 Scam (so far)

HGR1290 said:
"someone's" history goes way way back. And yes, it is all seemingly unreal.

The unfortunate misunderstandings between this individual and most of the town of Bear Lake (CA, I believe)

The unfortunate misunderstandings between this individual and most of the staff of a MI radio group, when he apparently became the self appointed PD of this group---and flipped formats on several of them---the ownership was as surprised as the staff and listeners, according to reports.

The unfortunate misunderstandings between this individual and the sellers of WJEP.

Numerous other unfortunate misunderstandings, some resulting in legal threats by one state.

That certainly is an unfortunate set of "misunderstandings" from this "certain" individual.

Be sure to check out his moronic "show" on Ustream - he's still posing as Bo Miller. And he actually interviews "guests" that are him with some lame-o accents. We'd say they're ethnically insulting, but judging by the Facebook pages he maintains, it's just part of his lunacy that he (and some other KKKer types) finds so humorous. That's a party of one, I guess.
And let's remember this is a middle aged MAN. Not some teenaged geek. He's got to be in his mid/late 40's. Anyone on this board live with your Mom and spend all day on Facebook? Or "performing" some juvenile shtick to an audience of one? "One" being that that stunted personality of Steven Blood?
The crazy thing is that he insists that he's had a long career in radio - which no one on any board has ever confirmed - but judging by his "on air" performance, we find it hard to believe that he could get a gig doing the announcements at a local airport.
Hopefully, some of the folks that have taken it upon themselves to monitor (or is it "hound") his sites are in contact with his IP providers as well as Facebook and Twitter to shut this moron down once and for all.

Woody's still trolling Facebook - his most recent thing is a campaign to draft actor James Woods to run for president.

Does anyone know the condition of the tower? At its height, lighting as well as appropriate painting are definitely required. I have no doubt that Woody is doing his usual Yeoman's duty and seeing to the matter personally. <sarcasm off> I would pay good money to know just who signed that return receipt.

I cannot remember if it was tall enough to require lights---its been 20-25 years since I saw the place....back when the MW10 was kind-of new!

Looking at it on google maps, it looks like they could sell some christmas trees from the site.

I think it was something like 115 ft, so it probably did not require lighting after all. Not very tall at all. FCC.gov gives it's electrical height at 85.9 degrees, so I am making a guess from that.

Fact is, WSBX ceased to exist years ago. I stand by my opinion going back almost four years now that the rationale for acquiring the station was to keep Woody busy while others were about the business of making money in real estate. I do not believe that there was ever a real intention of running the station, especially after Woody began selling off station equipment. Mrs. Blood was willing to eat the losses for whatever reasons. If she had intended to broadcast, the station would have been up and running quite quickly. Mrs. Blood is a successful businesswoman. She knows how to get done what she wants done.

The tower is around 300 ft. and does require lighting...though...it has not been lit in many years. The building is mostly gutted, and I believe they have not had power at the site in a long time. Used to be a great station. Pretty sad.

WSBX became DWSBX a few weeks ago. License cancelled. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.

The end.

Too bad. Woody sounded so enthusiastic way back when he first started.

First, I'd like to say it's great to be back here on Radio Discussions. I'm thrilled the owner decided to place this popular forum back online, especially considering the wealth of ideas and comments that have been posted over the years.

Next, according to the FCC, WSBX's licensed has been cancelled. Apparently a letter sent to the station from the FCC went unanswered, so the Commission decided to "pull the plug". WSBX-AM 1020 is now toast which is a real shame. It had an excellent non-directional signal.

This is a real loss, both to Georgia and to the business as a whole. I wonder what was actually happening with WSBX - not so much what we all saw; rather, all that we never were allowed to know.

A real "loss" to Georgia and broadcasting??!!
I admit we have lost a good soap opera. I will miss Woody and his daily "walk on the weird side." I was really hoping we could get him a management gig somewhere in the state so we could continue to enjoy, "The Woody Nelson Show."
Having said that I find it difficult to see how this is any kind of loss. As a matter of fact, it has an upside...now there's one less AM station junking up the dial!

One man's trash, I guess. I, too, will miss the next thrilling - maybe that should read: shrilling - episode of the continuing saga of Steven, Woody, or whoever he is this week; but any time one of these stations goes silent and is lost forever, to me, we are one step closer to the loss of an entire industry - which is both an art form and a societal landmark, as well as a business. I know that the loss of radio as I knew it is as inevitable as the passage of Time itself, so the loss of the 1020 signal in Georgia saddens me quite a bit: Even though the actual loss occurred some time ago, the purging of the station from FCC rolls has driven home the fact that the station is lost forever.
