Stolz - The gift that keeps on giving!

I think all parties agree that the music licensing fees have been paid now. However, the judge says the receiver must also be paid before the receivership can be terminated, an amount that runs into the hundreds of thousands, largely because of the legal fees accumulated through Stolz's ceaseless motions.

It's a lot more complicated than that. Paying the receiver wouldn't solve the VCY problem.

I don't see where the judge has said paying the receiver would change anything. But originally the receiver's fee was coming out of the $6 million sale price of the stations to VCY.

The receiver says he hasn't.
Ah, this is looking almost like a case in Mexico that Chris Huff pointed out to me: a licensee did an LMA with another group, but they did not get paid. The other group continued to broadcast, so the licensee built a new technical facility and began broadcasting on the same frequency while, at the same time, taking legal action.

Don't take a spear to a gunfight.

It's actually simple: The VCY sale becomes null if the receivership is terminated by the judge. Judge Bernal speaks to this from the bench in the documents from post #26.

Here is more on the Ed Stolz dispute with VCY.
Is it possible to hear this news from a site that is open to read? Is it always necessary to point to a pay news site? Or at least can someone please sum up the new report for us here on the boards? Thanks...

Interesting focus on the Ed Stolz's operations from a payola angle here:
From RollingStone..

Rolling Stone has an anti-radio agenda. Here's what Stolz says:

In a filing with the court last week, Patrick alleged that he learned of alleged violations of federal payola rules by the Stolz-owned stations since he was appointed receiver six months ago. In a sworn statement to the court, Patrick said Stolz “appears to be involved in potential ‘pay-for-play’ arrangements with one or more record promoters.”

But Stolz said that is not accurate. He told the court that he received no direct payments from any record promoters.

These stations were transferred to a DIP
KRCK-FM, K238AK, K251BX Palm Desert Mecca Major Market Radio LLC - Debtor in Possession
KREV-FM Alameda Golden State Broadcasting LLC - Debtor in Possession
KFRH- North Las Vegas Silver State Broadcasting LLC - Debtor in Possession

Only KBET-AM and it's associated FM translator were renewed.

Stolz is such a pox on radio now, hes gonna find a way to haunt people from beyond the grave whenever he kicks the bucket
