Well I would ask people why they like it so much. I honestly have listened to the entire One Republic CD and regret buying it. There are lots of other songs that would do so much better if they were just played more often. What about Gavin Rossdale's "Love Remains The Same"? Metro Station's "Shake It"? Those are just two examples.

Once again, you are not in the demo and your likes and dislikes are irrelevant when it comes to Hot AC. Flawed or not, the research shows that the women who prefer the Hot AC format like Stop & Stare, a lot. The Gavin Rossdale song has been taking a while to callout...if it breaks top 10, I doubt a lot of stations will power it. Metro Station is anotherone of those polarizing songs, it sounds young for for some Hot AC's and good for others.

Yet I saw on another board (Kentucky) talk of a hot AC station that has no female jocks or staff so what does that tell ya?

That the ladies like to hear guy's voices.

If it's small market, they could ahve the same problem as my station... you gotta go with who you got. In my case, the all-male lineup works, and my listeners respond to it.

Look at most Hot ACs. If they have a female jock, she's in middays to be "your at work pal."

Beej is right. But having no female jocks is not necessarily a bad thing in Hot AC. Women tend to be very picky about the female personalities they listen to. That's because women are far more critical of other women than they are of men. And that's coming from research -- didn't want anybody to think I was a sexist pig or anything :p. So having nothing but strong male voices, although atypical for HAC, can benefit the station that sells them and coaches them the right way.

Well now... I never said anything about me coaching my talent right :)

Nothing!! What does that have to do with music????? The all male jocks aren't playing what they want on the air (at least I am assuming). If your jocks are compelling, focused and can relate to your audience, gender is (usually) not a factor.

Gavin Rossdale - #6 on R&R Hot AC and #8 on American Top 20. Every other song on these charts are great except Stop And Stare. I just have to wonder why people like that song. It just does not sound like anything that has been on hot AC radio in the past before.
