I noticed that someone had posted a take in another thread but thought this topic was worthy of its own thread:
Who won? Who lost?
I thought Joe K. did a really good job as did the KRMG news team. Over the last two weeks I have become more of a fan. He was solid.
BUT, when they decided to extend programming after 6pm it was like Karaoke. I wanted to sign up for a shift. Todd did a super job on overnights but dear God there was some bad radio in between.
From what I heard KFAQ did a good job of playing off the passion from the botched work in the neighborhood. In other words politicizing it instead of providing information. To a certain degree it is really smart... you know you lose the news battle, so go after the talk audience.
Didn't notice too many signal issues so kudo's to all the engineers. Last Tuesday was an absolute wash and I was amazed that some shows were actually on the air.
