streaming OTA radio has its downfaults...

Are you kidding me? FORCED to feed de-emphasized audio? Encoding codecs are VERY different than analog OTA or even HD radio.

**EDIT** I missed the part saying you were kidding, thank God. :)

As for #2, don't count on it. :)
