Streets 94.5 LMAs WGUN 1010

It's official! Steve Hegwood has done a LMA with the Rivers family for WGUN 1010. Streets audio appeared on 1010 last night.
I assume this will replace WSTR HD3 as the "host" signal.

Are there studios some where in Tucker,GA off Mountian Industrial? I saw the Valodsta stations vehicles out there once. So, are the Valdosta stations still ran by Rivers? As for STREETZ 94.5, i'm sure a new Urban format will be on 1010 soon.

OH MY GOD.. What I have been waiting for ....Another FAILED format to play on Atlanta's 1010 am.. Lets see.. First it failed with some dude Named Hemmings who said lets play URBAN Oldies, then Hateful talk radio, NOW this mess.. A hot mess indeed ! Well Its been said many times many ways.. One day this will just be another DARK DEAD frequency ! They really should have stuck with the standards.. Would have been succesful at least.. This is another sad joke

If by hateful talk you mean Jesse Lee Peterson...Ill agree....Schultz is just a left wing verson the Limbaugh...but I hardly consider Rhodes or Hartman hateful...no more than you might consider Hannity hateful.

Will somebody please tell me who will listen to that on AM radio. Sad to see a wasted frequency! :-\

I doubt he's buying it for people to hear on 1010. Aside from the legal ID, I'd be surprised if Streetz makes even one reference to the AM. It's just to feed the translator.

Yes the Riverseses still run the Valdosta Stations. Although I am not sure which SIDE of the family is running it this week.

Yep, just inside DeKalb County near the Gwinnett/DeKalb County line, near Lawrenceville Highway.

Ok, I saw a Ford Expedition with "WLYX LYX 96" wrapping. Through a bunch of static, 1010 was airing an Urban AC format tonight.

I'm guessing the programming will be run out of the Streetz studios on Northside Drive but don't know for sure.

Old School 1010. This format was tried before and failed. I just don't see it's future.

In an urban-friendly metro, Hegwood's got a 'duo' of stations he can sell together to local advertisers. Of course that duo is still a directional FM translator and an AM with no usable night signal, so...they shouldn't be shy about advertising the RadioLoyalty app (their streaming company of choice).

STREETZ 94.5 is now streaming on Tune In. OLD SCHOOL 1010 sounds pretty decent and remember KISS and MAJIC plays newer R&B. Funny that "OLD SCHOOL" is the name and format Radio One is now rolling out. Could 1010am also be translated to a FM signal???

1010 AM can be broadcast over a translator as long as the translator signal stays within the full power day signal of the AM station. I think it is the 60db signal for the AM station that is the definer of the area (someone please correct me if I am wrong).

AM signals don't have a 60 dBu signal contour. An FM translator for an AM must either stay within the 0.5 mV or 1 mV ground wave contour and within 25 miles of the transmitter.

I must also say I'm surprised 1010 is doing its own thing. Good for Hegwood and good luck to him!

Thanks for correcting me. I have been looking at too many FM maps lately.

2 mV/m is actually the relevant AM contour - the 60 dBu of the translator has to stay within the AM's 2 mV and also within 25 miles of the AM site. (Which means in practice that the translator site itself has to stay within about 20 miles of the AM site in order to keep the contour contained.)
