I'm not sure I know what "cume" means, but until now the winner in the ratings as reported by Chad Finn and someone named kalendar has been 98.5 based on the show by show ratings. I don't see how that the games affect the shows. I don't listen to Celtics games because I usually watch and I can't stand Grande and Quack-Quack, but I listen to the talk on WEEI. I don't listen to 98.5 shows during football season just because the game is broadcast there. I listen to quite a few Sox games, but I would no matter what station they were on. It has no effect on the talk shows I listen to.
On the other hand, the Bruins helped 98.5 because they won for the first time in 40 years and 'EEI had always ignored them. All of the people who jumped on the bandwagon flocked to 98.5 because they talked about them. 'EEI also removed their most knowledgeable hockey guy and replaced him with a nerd at the same time............the perfect storm. I suspect that 98.5 dropped in ratings because the Bruins are becoming irrelevant again and 98.5 are no longer the new kids in town. It won't be long before people hate them as much as they once hated WEEI. From what I read on other message boards, Felger is becoming the DB again, where he was once admired.
