Stunting on KKGO HD3

A few turns were added to Back in The Saddle loop. Hope broadcaster is listening. Pleas give us more oldies like the KSURF days but leave out the Saturday night disco stuff please. Kilowattkat, Joey1986, ercjnc86, asugeorge1, and all seeking HD radio FREE OTA reception without the streaming data burden of our monthly wireless bondage, Cheers for our generation.

Also they found the money to rebuild their ground system after some yayhoo(s) stole the copper out from under a working 50KW transmitter. Hopefully they now pull in enough revenue to amortize those investments and also pump up their bitrate.

Oh boy you got me started on Copper Thieves ! Like parasites, these guys will use any means to steal copper bronze brass automotive catalytic converters because they hate Americans and our laws. Our hard labor and tax dollars are subject to waste fraud abuse by illegal aliens and those evil doers who accommodate them or are complacent with progressive liberal mindset of no consequence for lawlessness. Corrective action now.

Sorry to learn of your loss.

Oh, bad luck. Let's keep going and see if we can find what you're alleging:

Michael Galbreath of Union City is a citizen and convicted felon.

Gregory Wayne Galitzeck is an uncommon name in Mexico and Central America---because he's not from there. U.S. citizen again.

Well, lessee.....how about:

Man, this just isn't going the way you suggested it would.

One more----this time for sure, right?

Are you serious or are you just trying to be"funny"?

I noticed this afternoon that 105.1 HD3 seems to be playing oldies mixed with classic country, and now simply brands as “105.1 FM HD3.” Wonder what this could mean?

On July 15th KKGO HD3 began playing oldies that have "California" in the title or lyrics, along with songs that have the names of cities in the song title or the song's lyrics, or songs that refer to Southern California landmarks, etc. ....it's a very limited playlist...about two hours worth, which then repeats....with no commercials ..... Songs like: Hotel California, California Girls, Under the Boardwalk, It Never Rains in Southern California, Hollywood Nights, Ventura Highway, Surfin' USA, Do You Know the Way to San Jose, Surf City, If You're Going to San Francisco, ...even a country tune like "I've Got California On My Mind".... I have yet to hear "I Love LA" ... Bummer that this station's signal is not in stereo....only mono, supposedly due to the limited bandwidth on the 105.1 signal with it transmitting on four HD sub-signals. The HD3 signal gets only the mono treatment while the other three HD's are stereo signals.

I get most of those songs, but Under the Boardwalk? That's the Drifters, and it's evoking the Coney Island boardwalk. It's a great song, but definitely an East Coast, urban vibe.

No "99 Miles From LA"? I think "Route 66" would be a good addition. At least Barstow is mentioned.

The song also name checks several other prominent LA streets and the La Brea Tar Pits...

Ken Levine (Beaver Cleaver on KIQQ, KTNQ and others as well as a legendary TV writer/director---M*A*S*H, Cheers, Frasier) is now in his third career (his second was radio baseball play-by-play) as a cartoonist. His work appears in the New Yorker, and this is among my all-time favorites:

There's an aircheck of Chuck Browning on KFRC in 1970 talking up the intro:

"KFRC and the Drifters, answering the musical question...

Where'd ya bury her?"
The Chucker came to KFRC from WMCA (possibly not directly), where he had been one of the jocks who replaced the inimitable Good Guys. To say he was not shown respect in the market would be a severe understatement. He. Was. Despised. (By comparison, the Drake jocks who replaced Muni, Murray and Rosko on WOR-FM were mostly tolerated.) Browning left the market with his tail between his legs, so a big dollop of snark is understandable.
