Stunting on WFME

If the sale was complete, I would at least expect 94.7 to stunt as a Christmas Holiday format. ::)

This morning at 8:14AM, I switched over to WFME to hear the traffic report. Anyone familiar with the station knows that their traffic and weather reports on weekdays, usually delivered by Tom Note, are focused on New Jersey, about five minutes long and are extremely detailed, even long-winded. Today, traffic was delivered by someone else and the entire report focused on the NYC five boroughs. There were a few mentions of highways leading into New Jersey, but mainly how long the delays on those highways were. The traffic was also read at a much quicker pace.

To be fair, I have typically heard the reports during the 6-7AM hour, and not the 8-9AM hour. I do not know if the geographic focus is changed depending on the time of morning.

This may or may not have anything to do with the impending sale. If it does, however, might this be a subtle indication that perhaps Cumulus has found some way to move the signal to NYC?

Or "It's the End of the world" like Merlin did with 106.9 in Philly : )
No space between the : and the ) :)

The only WFME translator was W213AC, 90.5, Hyde Park NY ..
They are now re-broadcasting the main Family Radio feed from KEAR in Sacremento CA ..

Do you know when that began?

Yes, the translator went off the air on February 10, 2012, then went back on the air with the KEAR simulcast on April 27 ..

Why don’t they use the much closer and receivable in Hyde Park, WFRH Kingston, NY. The Translator is actually located across from Poughkeepsie near Highland and covers Hyde Park with about the same strength as WFRH, a waste. I live in Hyde Park

ok so whats wfme 94.7 an on frequency low power booster in Bethlehem, pa? or is a translator? that never been mentioned by anyone.

What I think is missing here is understanding the mentality surrounding Family Radio and their vision. You guys are talking about translators as though each of their Full Power stations were individually programmed. WFME was operated as little more than a repeater from Oakland, as were other operations around the Country. Any translator fed by WFME was probably to keep the operation within FCC compliance.

They could, just as well accomplish most of what they are doing with WFME with little repeaters.

Considering the one translator for Hyde Park that is no longer slaving off of WFME may have to do with the change of WFME from non-comm to commercial operation.

Again, they are not in the business of illegal operation.
