A lot of people would listen to a KONO like format.

If you're going to keep classic rock on the Eagle, please widen the playlist. Surely Cox isn't so cheap their server only has the same 300 songs to play repeatedly.

The server should have plenty of space now. If Eagle plays 300 songs, there should be vacancy from the 600 former songs from The Zone (note the wide playlist). 107.5 and 106.9 are GONE from my presets. I listened to The Point and The Zone but I can't take The Eagle as one of my top 6 "A" Bank presets. I live in Katy and I'd prefer the poor reception of KHJK and it has replaced 106.9. I used to listen to D&R but the bashing of people wanting their Zone or another station on 106.9 did me in.
I could loan them some music to fill those servers plus a few more & if they still have vinyl, cassette or even 8 track.... I have a nice collection there too!!!! Just sayin...

Just like their decision to dump The Zone, they were probably dumb enough to toss out all analog equipment, including some nice broadcast grade turntables, some Otari reel to reels, Tascam cassette decks and JBL studio monitors for a computer and some crappy self-powered speakers.
They didnt have anything like that in the KHPT booth. Not sure what music software they were using, 3 CD decks, Voxpro, and a couple of minidisc player decks... no turntables or reel to reel players

Funny I just imagined them having only 1 CD Player capable of playing MP3s, and 1 CD holding 300 songs ::)

Instead of simulcasting 107.5, why don't you put KONO from San Antonio
on 106.9 ??

Old Chicago

KONO would have to syndicate like The True Oldies Channel. I don't think COX is interested in syndicating a station. In fact I have never heard of a radio station owned by COX syndicated. Citadel Media now that's a different story.

Good God!! Anything is better than just duplicating the same station on a different frequency... ??? They couldn't possibly get that much more coverage!! I thought my button was stuck whenever I kept getting the Eagle on two presets!! Two Eagles are twice as bad!!

There is actually three Eagles on the FM dial. The station up in Livingston has been calling itself the Eagle since long before Cox decided to do it. And, they're playing nearly the same format, just with a bigger playlist.

I was in Spring earlier today. 107.5 was coming in - with stereo - in the car. Inside my friend's house, I could pick it up suitably on an old 80's area Magnavox AM/FM radio. 106.9 did come in more clearly on the Magnavox, but 107.5 was not so unacceptable that I wouldn't listen to it.

I put up with a lot of crap on 106.9 where I live - hard to get stereo, generally poor quality compared to the Missouri City stations - but content trumped those concerns. The Zone was the only station that I would actually leave on the radio, commercials and all - I'm 22, isn't that the demographic the advertisers are looking for, the one that's so damn hard to reach now because of all the alternatives to radio? Now I'm back to flipping around the dial, burning CDs, jacking in the iPod, listening to SIRIUS, Pandora, whatever - but most importantly: not listening to radio commercials anymore.
