Summer Book

Did WNNX turn off their transmitter for any extended period during this survey? Wow!

Quick overview/ 18-34, 25-54 rankings

Overall strong books for Fish (high TSL, I'm told, with tripling in 18-34 numbers 19th to 8th), Kiss and Jazz. Clear Channel failed for the second book in a row to have a single station in the top 10 12 plus. CCU also didn't have a single station in the top 10 25-54. They did have two stations in the top 10 18-34: Viva at No. 3 and 96rock at No. 9. Radio One and Cox each had three stations in the top 10 12-plus; Cox had three in 25-54 and 18-34 while Radio One had two in the top 10 25-54 and one 18-34.

Lite still taking a hit from the sturdy River (Randy & Spiff took a beating in 25-54 while the River shows unusually strong 18-34 numbers -->> 14th to 6th in that demo) B98.5 rebounded a little from a horrendous spring.

Zone beats the Fan as usual.

Steve Harvey doubles Si-Man's morning numbers in one book among 25-54.

The Buzz, a bright spot for CCU, pummeled 99X in all demos as 99X hit record lows again. (The final Axel & Leslie show took a stunning 70% dive among 18-34, dropping from 7th place to 20th)

Dave had its best book in a year (16th to 8th, 25-54), as did Barnes in his farewell book (15th to 11th 25-54), which always seems to happen when someone is taken off the air.

Although the 12-plus numbers were off for V-103, it held at No. 1 25-54 and 18-34 and Frank Ski did just fine.

Eagle had a weak book with Rhubarb dropping sharply 25-54. Praise also showed some weakness, esp. 18-34.

in the top 40 wars, the Beat rocked (9th to 4th among 18-34). Star slipped 18-34 but was more or less flat 25-54. Q100 solid in mornings with Bert but slippage later in the day.

WSB-AM stronger in young numbers (12th to 5th 18-34)

So where are 1160 and 1690?

Just wondering, for those people who are so sure that business talk and eccentric opera on AM are going to get better ratings than liberal talk. Let's see how well you spin...

No one said that business talk or opera would have better ratings than liberal talk. It was decision by the owner of the station to put on programming that he liked better. That was his decision that really had nothing to do with ratings.

To say that Air America had more listeners is not a surprise.

You just need to find a millionaire who wants to spend ten million dollars to buy a radio station and doesn't care if he loses money every year. You can your liberal talk back on the air too.

okay, where are the numbers showing WWAA did better in 2 books then WMLB? If I remember correctly, WWAA never showed up and neither has WMLB.

Anything below a 0.4 doesn't get acknowledged. see the 'WGKA did not appear'. they don;t even bother listing WWAA OR WMLB.
::)

Before, WWAA became WMLB it had a 0.5 and tied with WGKA and that happened more than once. Not bad, considering
WWAA did not do much at all with sales and had no advertising. The owners of WWAA wanted to start this station and sell it
and that was the intention. As for WMLB, the owner obviously does not care about ratings as a previous post pointed out
when you got the money the ratings do not matter.

WAOK. The most contradictive call letters ever.

Not quite correct. After the format change on 1690, evnlee made this post...

who wants to wager then Joe's new format will fare better or remain flat in the next 2 Arbi's then Air America did? We take the median ratings across the board, and compare the last 2 AA books with the next 2 books and see if WMLB compares favorably against what AAR was pulling.

That bet is looking better and better.

No. I am staying out radio these days but may have some potential projects.
