Sunny 98.5 Panama City

I heard something in the car on 98.5 playing soft AC. Doubt if it was Sunny.

"I had a bad day"

Their webstream is alive n kicking, She can listen to Sunny till they get back on FM.

-Rob

At 9:05pm/8:05pm Saturday 4/27/13 Sunny 98.5 is still off the air or on low power. Rob were you hearing the other 98.5 from Gainesville's KTK-FM?

That 98.5 KTK-FM Gainesville Florida got singal that can reach into north florida big bend latley since Sunny 98.5 been on low power for the last month or so.

Broaddus never had anything to do with Sunny98.....I guess that is why is has been such as sucessful station over the years ;)

The antenna is installed and we are purging the transmission line and antenna with Nitrogen.....barring any weather problems on Monday morning, we will tune the antenna and be ready to go back on some time Monday afternoon.

IF THE WEATHER DOESNT MESS US UP

Congrats CCENG. I am sure you are more than thrilled to have this project behind you. I'm also sure a lot of Sunny listeners (and clients) will be happy to get a full signal.

I will tell my co-workers in Tallahassee to let them know. Sunny 98.5 does reach some areas in Tallahassee with the 100,000 watts singal. (before) the lighting hit the tower last month.

This is a good example of power and HAAT working together. Sunny is a good station. Just wish I didn't have to null 98.7 now.. gurr

Nitrogen.... Yum. Bringing back the lost memories of huffing Whip-its at LaVela durring spring break. The MTV security guy searching my backpack and ignoring the Whip-its, bong, and weed, but confiscating my bottle of water. Good times, fun times... too fun, glad I survived them and never got arrested... never hurt anyone but myself.
What flavor of nitrogen are you using down there? Hopefully the yummy flavored dentist type. :)

Since you've been updating the Sunny antenna, is anything wrong with WFLF? The signal in Pensacola has been bad for months.

Today weather was some rain and showers that hit the area around 12noon or so and its still rainy in Tallahassee area at 6:00pm So I guess we have to wait utill tuesday to finish the anteena.

exactly.....we got the antenna tuned but before the tower crew could get their rigging down, we were hit with continual thunderstorms.....hope to finish in the morning.

I know there some showers off and on each day this week into the weekend. about 50 to 60% chance of showers. They said by sunday into next week should be sunny and dryier weather returns.

Yup. Charlie can't go climb a 1000 foot lightning rod and I can't get my yard work done. Darn Gulf Coast spring/summer weather patterns!

Once this weather goes through, he should have clear sailing to finally get 98.5 on the air. There's one question on their facebook page about them being down.

-Rob

Rob, Poledo....CCENG will need Stella Artois and Hendricks Gin once this project is finally complete. I'm thinking road trip. Wonder if there's any extra strobeys Charlie can add for you rob?

Hopefully the showers will leave around sunday as they get less and less toward this weekend. on Monday and Tuesday back to sunshine and dryier weather lows in the 50's highs in the low 80's If that case then they will get Sunny 98.5 back on full power hopefully this weekend or Monday. Right now they couldnt do it b/c there was showers and thunderstorms each day this week. So Today 1 more day of showers and thunderstoms 70% then by Saturday the rain is going down to 40% but still around there then on sunday into monday nice weather and dryier. That the weather for Panama City and Tallahassee area.

We found some problems with the transmission line, which is 25 years old and a decision has been made to replace it before we go back on at the site. This will make things much more reliable. We will remain on our backup site for at least another 2 weeks while the line is delivered and installed (and the old line taken down).

Plus everyone is correct about the weather. Wind and rain every day this week has been an issue and would have been an issue if we hadn't decided to replace the line.

The weather sucks because the Sunny flamethrower is offline. I bet the weather around the backup antenna has been fine.
